Tea Please

I wanted to address an issue I face more often than I like to admit.

You had a great day. Your nutrition was excellent. You nailed your workout and even did some extra cardio just because. You are home, dinner is long gone and you are lounging and winding down from the day. Then, all of the sudden, you have the urge to attack the -- (insert craving here, in my case -  peanut butter jar, cereal, something ridiculously carb loaded and not needed).

A solution that I have turned to that helps me is make a cup of hot tea, decaf of course. The time it takes to fill the kettle, wait for it to boil, pick my tea flavor and mug all distract me and relax me at the same time. I received a bright yellow tea kettle for our wedding and there is something so sweet and deeply precious to me about warming up water in the kettle over our gas stove. By the way, how cute is this kettle? I think I might need to invest in a back up kettle. ;)

Pouring the steamed water over my hand picked tea bag that I put in my favorite china and then sipping it slowly, the feeling as it warms me to my core and eases me into a dreary dreamlike state, all distract me from the momentary need to fill my belly with carbs.

Here are some excellent tea flavors I have come to love.

The vanilla flavor is delicious and kicks any sweet cravings to the curb.

This sampler pack is my absolute favorite. It has herbs specific to promoting rest and stress reduction.

The Republic of Tea chocolate line is hand down my favorite for when I want something sweet.

I hope this helps you when those evening cravings hit!
