I competed in the Phil Heath Classic on March 16. This was a long prep for me. I had allowed myself to be quite relaxed on my diet since my competition last July. I also became a vegetarian. I was on my own this past prep trying to struggle with learning how my body responds to certain protein sources and the effects on my physique and training. I had moments where I felt discouraged because I had a lack of firm direction.I did not place and ended up in the bottom call outs. I placed 14th out of 19 girls in my class. After months of constant prep, you would think that I would give up. I however am more motivated than ever to see this out and prove to myself that I can do it.
I have given myself time to process the beliefs and personal convictions that lead me to make the decision to pursue a cruelty free lifestyle. I can confidently say that at this time, I desire two things: to continue my fitness journey on the stage and to remain a vegetarian as I take this journey. It seemed easier at times to give up one passion in order to accommodate another but I finally feel at peace that I can accomplish both. I have found a coach and training team that have agreed to accommodate my personal nutrition preferences. I am excited to say that I am now part of the Oddo's Angels. I begin my prep with my coach Kim Oddo next week. I will follow his guidance all the way to Las Vegas, as I step on the pro qualifier stage in pursuit of my Pro Card.
On April 1st, I will be 12 weeks out from my next show the Adela Garcia Classic and 17 weeks out from my first National level show in LAS VEGAS!!!
Well, that is a quick update. I hope to be blogging again soon with inspirational workout tips and recipes. Apologize again for the brief hiatus. Thank you for all the support! Please share with me any topics you would like me to discuss.
