I am going to treat myself to a Betsey Johnson swimsuit this summer. I have been wanting one for years and now at least I know it will look good. :) I plan on signing up for the next competition in April in order to stay on track and focused. I need to find a competition in July so that I can stay with it all summer.
I have learned that it is important to change your view of a reward system. So many things in our culture condition us to treat ourselves with food and drink. Begin changing this habit and have a small reward in your head to treat yourself with when you accomplish things. Here are some of mine rewards.
If I hit _____ pounds, I will allow myself to finally buy a workout outfit from LuLu Lemon.
If I burn my calorie goal for the week, 5,200, then I will allow myself to invest ina piece of workout equipment for our new home gym.
Speaking of... my ultimate press bar came in the mail yesterday!! I can't wait to create a circuit workout for it. Here are some pics of Bodyrocker doing exercises on it.
When you are trying to reward yourself for your success and making smart choices, make them constructive to your body, not destructive. Loose that 'I deserve this' mentality when buying that ice cream and cupcake. You are really hurting yourself in the end. I feel like I am preaching to myself but sharing it with you all ;)
