It is almost over. I am in the final days where everything has become a 'last'. The last Saturday before the show, the last Monday workout, the last etc... I have been spending the majority of my time finishing up the details of trip preparation and trying to catch up on some sleep this weekend.
I went to exchange a shirt yesterday at the mall and thought I would try on jeans in a couple of different stores to see what fits. I went to New York and Company, Ann Taylor, The Limited and Express and I was able to fit in a size zero in ALL those stores. Turns out the tappered ankle skinny jeans I can not fit over my muscular legs but the size up runs too big in the waist. It felt amazing. I still don't picture myself as a size zero though. I guess it is because I am not just skin and bones but just a leaner version of myself. I still have nice curves and strong muscle definition, but with good nutrition and exercise, have limited the excess fat on my body.
I have already started worrying about maintaining which is why I am thankful that I already have 2 more shows coming up in the next few months to keep me motivated. I imagine I will throw back in more carbs and healthy fats and allow myself a cheat day again. Four weeks out from a show, I should be able to clean it up, scale back on the carbs and increase my cardio to get back in competition form.
I am typically a person that never checks a bag, but due to the volume of needed liquids, I am being forced too. I am spending alot of time deciding what can't be lost - must be carry on, and what I could afford to loose for a day.
I received my tanning/painting schedule. I am so glad our flight lands in LAX by 9am because my first apt is at 12pm and then again at 5pm. It looks like I will literally be spending my day Friday being painted, drying and painted again. I have one more apt Saturday am at 6:30 but I'm kinda hoping between the session I am doing Thursday here in Austin and the 2 sessions Friday, I won't need the Sat am session. We shall see. You are not supposed to shower either between sessions so I have to learn how to not wear deodorant, not sweat, basically not mess up my color at all by getting warm or wet for 24 hours. This will be fun. I guess I'll be just hanging out in the hotel room all day Friday naked and air drying. I will have a full report of this experience upon my return.
Matt is already planning on tweeting the event as a play by play for all of you at home. You can follow him on facebook or twitter. :) What a good husband I have.
I am actually excited about some appearances being made at the Fit Expo while the competition is happening. I believe Amanda Latona, the EZwhey cookbook girl and I think Jamie Eason will all be at booths there. I hope I have time to say hello to some of my fitness heros.
I probably wont update much this week but I promise to have a very detailed post about the trip and the whole experience.
