NEXT

After a successful year of prep and an amazing experience at the national level NPC USAs in Las Vegas, I am back to the grind and planning out the next step in my fitness journey. I have decided to prep for my next show, Texas State in Houston October 12th. I will be 8 weeks out starting Sunday. I am very excited to step on stage again so soon and also experience the show. I hear wonderful things about it.

Here are a collection of my favorite pictures from Las Vegas.
Second call outs for my first national show. I placed 14th out of 35 girls in my class. I learned so much and I am determined to work hard all "off season" to bring an even better package next year.

With my amazing coach Kim Oddo and the always fabulous Amanda Latona.

Enjoying my workout in the hotel gym.

My husband and I celebrated at The Wynn buffet. I sampled quite a few tasty treats.

It was a wonderful experience and I am excited to get back to work at improving my physique for the national stage next year. I will never give up on my dream of becoming a IFBB pro.

I am also thrilled to announce that I will be representing the amazing company ABOUT TIME at the fitness expo in Dallas this weekend. I have been using the product for a couple of years and have always been attracted to the purity of the product. Stop by the booth if you are attending and come say hi and sample their great products!!

To Figure Or Not To Figure

After my last show I was given the suggestion to attempt figure due to my muscle size. Here is my thought process on the issue.

Pros -
- I love to train hard
- I love to lift heavy
- My body naturally builds muscle easily
- It is more along the lines of my genetics
- I get to eat more
- It is less subjective than bikini
- No stupid booty shaking
- I do not have to as much cardio and can lift more than 5# dumbbells

Cons -
- Not a fan of the posing as much
- I will have a much larger muscular upper body
- I appeal more to the feminine side of bikini
- I won't be able to compete for awhile due to much more training

When I break it down, it makes sense to pursue figure. I get scared when I look at the competition photos because they seem so hard.

But then I look at how these women look in everyday life, and seriously who would not like to look super fit and healthy and they still are quite sexy.

I am going to attend Bombshell camp and see what they suggest. If I am honest with myself, it appears my options are pursue bikini and have a low calorie strict diet filled with lots of cardio and limited weight training and still maybe never succeed in the competition circuit or pursue figure and get to eat more and train hard and lift heavy and maybe have a shot. I will just trust my coaches and see what they feel is best for me. Anxious and super excited for camp!

Ronnie Coleman Review

Ronnie Coleman Review - Here are some pictures from the show last weekend. I have to say it was a great experience to see some of the top bodies in the big state of Texas and beyond. This was the largest show in the history of NPC shows in Texas. I didn't even make the first 3 call outs in my class. It was a big reality check to get to work. I am so excited that I will be attending Team Bombshell camp in 2 weeks. I need a well organized plan of attack and some much needed encouragement and direction.

Here I am with my number.

Practicing posing before the show.

Nicole and I before the prejudging.

Ready to rock the stage.

Photos by Dan Ray - RxMuscle.com. Yet again, my quads are still too large. I am having the hardest time loosing muscle.

I enjoyed how my tan and hair looked for the show.

My best friend came to see me. It meant so much to me to have her there.

Post show, smelly and glazed, but too hungry to care. It was about 11:00pm at this point.

Celebratory cookies: Double stuffed oreos baked in homemade chocolate chip cookies by Nicole. So delicioius.

I have throughly enjoyed a wonderful 3 days off from strict dieting but couldn't keep myself out of the gym. I am back on my "diet" aka eating healthy tomorrow. I will post my meal plan with pics tomorrow. I have decided not to do the Texas Shredder next weekend. I needed an emotional break from contest prep. I am excited to have a fresh perspective and all the information I will learn at Team Bombshell camp in 2 weeks. I would like to think of it as a mini vacation to Florida but I know we will be working hard the whole time.

Hope you have a wonderful day! Happy training!!
